about

Brothers Ro'i & Arnan Raz are releasing a new CD, "Summer's Gone" . It contains mostly Israeli classic folk songs, arranged for Saxophone and guitar, and fused with jazz, ethnic and classical motifs.
The general atmosphere on the album is inspired by the meadows of Jezreel valley, where the two brothers grew up, on the North Country sides of Israel.
Arnan and Ro'i Raz have brought up in a musical home. Their grandfather, Avraham Talmi, a music educator and a painter, has established generations of music students and oversaw the development of his two grandchildren. His eldest son is acclaimed conductor Yoav Talmi, and his daughter Hedva Raz, mother of Ro'i and Arnan, is also a guitarist and a music teacher.
Guitarist and composer Ro'i Raz has studied Jazz at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy. He then went further to develop his personal style at the "third stream" department of New-England Conservatory in Boston, employing variety of ethnic music to influence his writing and playing. That tenure produced Roi's debut album, "Between the Suns" (Sachimay 2003), containing writing for chamber-jazz ensemble with flute, clarinets and strings. Upon returning to Israel, Ro'i established "Kedma-Yama" group, to play his original ethno-jazz tunes, performing Red Sea Jazz Festival and recording "To The Desert To The Fields" (2008). Other projects Ro'i Raz has initiated are "Ensemble Tehilim" (music for psalms, 2013 ) and "The Jezreels" (original folk-rock, 2016).
As an active Jazz saxophonist Arnan Raz has performed extensively in NYC’s most prestigious venues (Brooklyn Ballroom, NY Philharmonic and others) and achieved worldwide popularity as a member of “The Side Project”, with global tours and tens of thousands of Youtube views. After two raved albums (“One of the leading lights on the international jazz scene for many years to come” Mike Gates, UK Vibe). His upcoming cd “7 Days” is soon to be released by Raz’s Co-Founded label “Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit”.
